Stacey Solomon Opens Up: ‘Viewers See Everything’ in New BBC Show

A Look Inside Pickle Cottage

TV star Stacey Solomon and her husband, actor Joe Swash, have a new BBC One reality show. It shows their real life at home in Pickle Cottage. The show is honest and natural, showing happy times and hard times.

“We Panicked When We Realised Viewers See Everything”

Stacey is used to being on TV, but she was surprised by how much the cameras captured. “You suddenly realise people see everything, and it makes you panic,” she says. But she decided to be real. “We are just a normal family. If people see us arguing or making mistakes, that’s okay. We don’t want to show a perfect life that isn’t real.”

Joe agrees. “If we weren’t going to be honest, there was no reason to do the show. Our biggest worry was if people would even want to watch us doing normal things like school runs and changing nappies. Our life is not glamorous, but it is real.”

Family, Parenthood, and Blended Life

Stacey and Joe got married in 2022. They have five children: Zach, Leighton, Rex, Rose, and Belle. Their kids are between two and 17 years old. Joe, 43, says words like “blended family” or “stepdad” don’t really fit. “I love all our kids the same. There is no difference between them.”

Stacey, 35, agrees. “When I met Joe, my older boys were very young. Now we have little ones too. People call us a blended family, but for us, we are just family.”

They don’t have a nanny but get help from family. “My dad, Dave, and my sister help a lot. We all support each other like a team,” Stacey says.

Balancing Work and Marriage

Stacey and Joe love each other but say they sometimes argue. “We drive each other mad sometimes, like any couple,” Joe laughs.

Stacey says watching the show helps them learn. “When we see our arguments on TV, it helps us understand and grow.”

Despite everything, their love is strong. “Joe is very kind and caring,” Stacey says. Joe smiles and adds, “Stacey is super protective of our family. You don’t mess with her kids!”

Parenting Styles and Life Lessons

Stacey and Joe have different parenting styles. “I am more relaxed, but Stacey is the strict one,” Joe says.

Stacey thinks Joe is this way because he lost his dad when he was young. “He just wants to make happy memories for the kids, and that is really special.”

Having kids of different ages makes their family unique. “Our teenagers still get to play like kids because of their little siblings. It also teaches them to be responsible,” Stacey explains.

More Kids or More Animals?

Joe would love more children, but Stacey jokes that she needs a break. “I have had three babies in five years. My body needs rest!”

Instead, Stacey wants to add more animals. “The other day, I heard Stacey talking about a cow,” Joe says. “I said, ‘No way! We cannot have a cow!’”

Stacey laughs. “I want to grow vegetables, collect eggs, and maybe even make our own milk. But right now, we are still busy raising kids.”

Why People Will Love This Show

Stacey and Joe’s new show is funny, warm, and real. It shows the good and bad sides of family life. Viewers will see them not just as TV stars but as real people with real challenges.

Their honest and loving nature makes them one of the UK’s favourite couples. This show will give people a true look into their world.
